AVAILABILITY AND PLANT SIZE
Daylilies and Hostas are husky doubles plus more when we can, except on New Introductions which are singles unless noted. Japanese irises are usually 2 to 5 fans. All orders are shipped on a first come first serve basis, but we do try to consider the weather zones of our southern customers. Plants are freshly dug field grown divisions, wrapped carefully and shipped bare root the same day for freshness.
SHIPPING AND SHIPPING CHARGES
Shipping begins May 1st, weather permitting. It all depends, but because our plants are field grown and reach ideal sizes at different times, shipping dates may vary. We ask your patience if schedules are not exact.
Shipping is always a losing proposition, and we try to maintain our shipping charges in line with other nurseries. We usually ship UPS, so please provide a telephone contact. All plants become your property upon delivery to the transportation company, and any claims must be filed with them.
BASIC SHIPPING: $9.00 plus 50¢ per Plant UPS 2 DAY AIR: Add $10.00 to the Above
SUBSTITUTIONS and BONUS PLANTS
Many of the new varieties in our catalog are in limited supply, If sold-out we will substitute with a similar plant of greater value if you list alternatives. We suggest you order early if your wish list has a ‘must have’. We always give bonuses and try to pick from your list. Customers who order stay on our mailing list for two years.
GUARANTEE
All our stock is state inspected yearly, and guaranteed to be correctly labeled. If not, please return to us within 3 days with the original label. We regret that we cannot be responsible for plants in the care of shippers, nor for your storage, planting or weather conditions.
DAYLILY RUST
Daylilies are a rugged plant, and have survived in our garden naturally along with the Japanese beetles, thrips, moles, voles, deer, mowers and some leaf streak and spring sickness. I believe they become hardier plants because of these exposures. At the present, we have seen no evidence of Daylily Rust, but intend to keep a sharp lookout for it. Perhaps the winter’s freezes and thaws on our hill will be a benefit after all.
